Waifu, FWB or One-Night Stand? #27

It’s week #27 of Waifu, Friend With Benefits or One-Night Stand!

For those new to the article, this is not a post that talks about the “fuckability” of three randomly selected female characters from various anime and video games. I’m already attracted to them, it’s to be implied that I would share a bed with them already. What this article is meant to do, is go through their personalities, interests, anything pertinent to answering the question if they’re a one-time only, a friend that I might accept the occasional booty call from, or someone I would absolutely spend the rest of my life with.

So without further to do, let’s meet this week’s contestants!

Kicking off this week is the second unlikely looking pirate in the Mouretsu Pirates series, Chiaki. A friend of Marika, Chiaki is the opposite of Marika, leaning more towards the calm and reserved “tsundere” kind of personality. While Marika is very aggressive and thinks outside of the box when she captains the Bentenmaru, Chiaki is more a “by the book” kind of pirate, she doesn’t try to go beyond the boundaries of the law that space pirates have in the show’s universe.

Chiaki at times does get away from her calm demeanor, usually it’s her getting super angry at something, but other times it’s when she somehow gets caught in a super embarrassing position, or apparently just by being given a parfait. When she’s removed from her normal personality, she’s a little better off, a lot more enjoyable.

That’s all I’ve got for her, so here’s my call on Chiaki:

The problem I have with Chiaki is that without her being around Marika, she’s really not that interesting. She’s a very pretty girl (I’m a sucker for girls with glasses), but her personality the majority of the time is really bland and boring, she doesn’t seem like a fun person to be around. So from that alone, she’s getting the lowest tier I can give.

Another pirate, this time from the visual novel Princess Waltz, Liliana is a lot more fun-loving and over-the-top than Chiaki is, by a country mile. Though she has a very bubbly personality, when it comes time to fight in the Princess Waltz, it doesn’t matter who she’s fighting, friend or foe, she’s taking it as seriously as possible and yet she still finds time to try and make the battle fun, “Battle should be flashy and fun!” being her motto.

This may be the shortest description I do, because there isn’t too much to say about Liliana due to her being a side character in what to this day is still just a hentai visual novel, so I’ll just cut to my decision here:

Regardless of the lack of information/memory I have with Liliana, her personality alone is enough to make her worthy of my friendship. From what I do remember, she is an extremely cheerful girl, the kind of girl that is very infectious with her smile. And come on, she’s such a bright ball of energy, it’s so hard not to like her. But because I don’t know more than just her bubbly personality, I don’t have an idea on how she’d be in a relationship, so I don’t feel like I have enough to put her in the Waifu tier. So the middle-tier it is!

The lead girl of Ai Yori Aoshi, Aoi is one of the early anime wife-acting girls I saw when I was still getting my feet wet with the media. She’s normally a very shy girl, to the point a lot of people actually look at her as a very weak girl, some even comparing her to a doormat. However, I don’t think that’s true, Aoi does fight for the things and people she loves, that side of her is just so rare.

What most people remember her for though, is like I said, her housewife nature, where she is the girl that spends the majority of her days cooking, cleaning, doing laundry and taking care of the other people in the Sakuraba household. Hell, she was even willing to take her clothes off and help her eventual husband Kaoru warm up when he had a fever!

Anyways, here’s my call on Aoi:

It was a tough decision between the top and middle tier for Aoi, mainly because of her being displayed so far down the housewife road. But in the end, I ended up going all the way to the top with her. Despite her being so cliched with the “loves to clean and cook” moniker that makes a lot of female characters hard to like, Aoi’s just way too adorable and her shyness really helps eliminate the “she’s so perfect it hurts” perception that I put on other girls like her (Kaede from Shuffle! for example) and makes her a lot more bearable.

So that’s this week’s edition of Waifu, FWB, or One-Night Stand, hope you enjoyed it! Leave any comments you’ve got below, whether it’s your own choices between the three or maybe I’m missing something that could’ve turned the tide on my decision with any one of these girls.
