It’s week #44 of Waifu, Friend With Benefits or One-Night Stand!
For those new to the article, this is not a post that talks about the “fuckability” of three randomly selected female characters from various anime and video games. I’m already attracted to them, it’s to be implied that I would share a bed with them already. What this article is meant to do, is go through their personalities, interests, anything pertinent to answering the question if they’re a one-time only, a friend that I might accept the occasional booty call from, or someone I would absolutely spend the rest of my life with.
So without further to do, let’s meet this week’s contestants!
First up is the silver-haired beauty who was once a former rival idol to 765 Production before she ended up joining the crowd (and probably semi-regretting it) that is the craziness of 765 Production. From THE iDOLM@ASTER, it’s Takane Shijou!
I don’t have too much information on Takane, both from lack of personality descriptions in Wikia pages and just the fact I’ve only spent a little bit of time with the series, so I haven’t spent as much time with Takane and company as I have with many other girls in these posts.
Takane comes from wealth, a very rich family, so she carries a massive aura of elegance and majesty, one you’d expect from your archetypal rich girl anime character. However she doesn’t exude some of the other usual tropes from a character of that ilk, she doesn’t come off as overly bratty or demanding to be looked at like the motherfucking Queen of everything. Instead, she’s very polite to everyone and actually had a dependency on being around people, not liking to be alone. She’s a real smart cookie and naturally as the show goes, she has a tremendous voice and a fond love of being on stage.
That’s all I got for Takane, so here’s my call:
♦ FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS ♦
Unlike most prim and proper elegant rich girls, Takane doesn’t actually do anything to really rub me the wrong way. Yes, her beauty is also a huge reason why it’s easy for me to not want to push myself away from her, but in the end she doesn’t stand out to the point that I see her in the top tier with so many other girls that have so much to offer. Perhaps there is a really beautiful and enjoyable personality that I haven’t seen in Takane, but for what I’ve seen of her, there just isn’t enough to push her to the top.
Second up is the the dangerous, violent Rewolf Black Institute fighter with a scythe that controlled gravity at the expense of her blood (yep!), from The Asterisk War, it’s Irene Urzaiz.
Taking the early form of Irene, it’s clear how dangerous she is and how unlikely it would be for anyone to want to get close to her, despite her very attractive badass beauty persona she holds when she’s not barring her fangs and having glowing red eyes. Before her fight with main character Ayato, she is the embodiment of rage and violence, she brings a new meaning to the phrase “overly aggressive” and is one of the most rude and irritating characters around. I will admit however, even at her worst, there was a certain charm to Irene that just kept me interested in her and I was convinced I’d see a much better form of her soon.
And I wasn’t wrong. After her defeat at the hands of Ayato and her mystical scythe being destroyed, as the series progresses beyond their fight, it’s clear that Irene has mellowed out quite a lot. She is a very honorable woman, always keeping to her word. She comes off as a girl that wouldn’t bother hiding secrets from you unless she was being paid to do so, because to her it’s almost like it’s a pain in the ass keeping them. By the end of the current season, the last time we see her, she still retains a bit of that rude charm she has, but she looks like a young woman who’s grateful to not be in the heat of battle all the time, like someone who’s been to war for a long time and has done more than enough and just wants to relax. She’s not the most cheerful person in the world, but she also comes off much more realistic.
Which is why this call (albeit surprising perhaps) is so easy for me:
♥ WAIFU ♥
Even at her worst, Irene still held a place in my heart. If she literally was only the violent girl from Season 1, I probably would’ve been forced to put her in the lowest tier on the basis that she’s way too dangerous to even try to wave at her, let alone try to start a relationship with her. But in Season 2 once she mellows out a bit, she becomes such a real and fun girl. I don’t necessarily enjoy the overly cheerful girls. I can, but there’s usually an extra quirk to add onto it and really bring it home. In Irene’s case, she has that edgy personality that shows some real beauty once in a while. I imagine with how her relationship is with her sister, Priscilla, that this young woman is one who will protect those close to her with her life and loves them deeply. That side of Irene, that’s a side I want to be around. Forever.
Finishing off this week is the werewolf artist that ends up drawing some real goddamn sexy manga. From Outbreak Company, it’s Elbia Hanaiman!
Like some characters, there’s not much information on her, as the anime isn’t as popular, so all of this is going off memory.
Originally in the show, Elbia was a spy from another kingdom looking into the goings-on since the arrival of the otaku, Shin’chi. When she was found, she eventually was employed instead of imprisoned. Why? Shin’chi and company wanted to make their own manga and Elbia was a very talented artist, so she became his personal artist for just that. In most cases, she’s very cheerful, more leaning to the hyper side of cheerful, often plays the role of the big-breasted girl who is a little huggy. She has a slight “danger” to her, if you want to call it that though. She at times will get in heat and becomes very “aggressive” when it happens, as Shin’chi found out.
I really don’t have much else on Elbia, so here’s my call:
♦ FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS ♦
It’s a shame I don’t remember much more, but ’tis the case when you haven’t watched the show in a couple years. My short memory of Elbia, I felt neither hatred nor undying love for her, so the middle tier is an easy call in the end. Her hyper, cheery nature always brings a smile to my face with that kind of character, she has the unique look of her werewolf form, not to mention her tanned skin (which I’m a sucker for) and yes, her lack of clothes. I just have to watch my back when she’s in heat, or at the very least just make sure my bedroom door’s locked. Somehow I figure that might not work…
So that’s this week’s edition of Waifu, FWB, or One-Night Stand, hope you enjoyed it! Leave any comments you’ve got below, whether it’s your own choices between the three or maybe I’m missing something that could’ve turned the tide on my decision with any one of these girls.
