Waifu, FWB or One-Night Stand? #51

It’s week #51 of Waifu, Friend With Benefits or One-Night Stand!

For those new to the article, this is not a post that talks about the “fuckability” of three randomly selected female characters from various anime and video games. I’m already attracted to them, it’s to be implied that I would share a bed with them already. What this article is meant to do, is go through their personalities, interests, anything pertinent to answering the question if they’re a one-time only, a friend that I might accept the occasional booty call from, or someone I would absolutely spend the rest of my life with.

So without further to do, let’s meet this week’s contestants!

Kicking off this week is my favourite Japanese pirate girl. From the Guilty Gear series and a member of the Jellyfish Pirates, it’s May!

Anyone who’s played the Guilty Gear games knows that the bubbliest girl in the room when it comes to the series is May, without a shadow of a doubt. She’s extremely cheerful, almost so cheerful that it hurts, if that’s even humanly possible! Her energy is unlimited and infectious as well, but all in all this is probably due to her young age. She’s still a naive, innocent young girl, she’s going to be quite happy all the time. When it comes to her fellow pirates however, she can become serious as she cares deeply for every single member of the crew, though Johnny is where her attention goes to the most. When he’s in danger, she can become irrational and dangerous, not sticking to her duties and maybe going a little too far for his safety.

The most dangerous part of her however is her extremely crazy fear of bald people. Now as of this time that isn’t a problem for me, but imagine for a second that she doesn’t get over this fear, ever. Most men lose their hair eventually and based on my own family’s history, I will eventually as well if I just let things go naturally over time.

So here’s my call on May:

In actuality, this decision isn’t necessarily because of her fear of bald people, but is confirmed because of it. May for me, while a fantastic character and a really fun girl to be around, I imagine her extreme levels of energy and cheerfulness might get to be a little too much for me. Who knows, perhaps she mellows out and overcomes her fear of baldness when she’s older, but from what I know of her, she’s not going to reach Waifu tier anytime soon.

Second up is the princess of Alexandria who goes through quite the dramatic hair change. From Final Fantasy IX, it’s Garnet!

Right off the bat, Garnet leans towards the intelligence being attractive route, she’s very much into reading books and learning from everything around her, a lover of knowledge and culture. Though she really likes theater and with my history of watching plays, that might be a bit of a sticking point with me. She’s a very assertive girl, quick to think and is quite good at outwitting people in order to achieve her goals.

In terms of her personality however, it’s hard to get a real read on her for most of the game. For a lot of the game she’s very self-deprecating, more than happy to blame herself for anything and everything, regardless of her level of involvement. She’s the kind of person to want to carry everyone’s burdens and protect everyone when in reality that’s just not going to happen. Though as the game goes on, she lets up a little bit through Zidane and starts being a little more, shall we say normal.

Alrighty, here’s my call on Garnet:

From my time playing the game, I really only ever looked at Garnet as a slender pretty girl. I never really found much to fall in love with when I was playing the game, actually Final Fantasy IX as a whole produced zero characters I really attached to, though I give Square props for finally having a main character that wasn’t depressed all the time. But Garnet in particular, there just wasn’t much about her, despite her beauty. A lot of the time, she’s your cliche princess character and when she’s not being the princess, she’s just being a total downer. She’s very bright, but only in intelligence.

Finishing off this week’s edition is the shining star of Setouchi, the commander of the “Vacuum Butt Cannon” manuever, from Keijo!!!!!!!!, it’s Nozomi Kaminashi!

Like May, Nozomi is extremely energetic and constantly happy, though it’s more in her selfishness to become a prize queen in the fictional sport of Keijo rather than just being blindly energetic, Nozomi’s energy has a purpose and a route. Despite her initial dumb energetic demeanor, she’s actually quite clever and more than capable of outsmarting even the best opponents. She’s also extremely determined, it’s very hard to phase her and get her to move away from the goal she currently has in mind and shooting for, she’s not one to back down. Lastly, she’s quite the motivator, not selfish in trying to be the best on her own, she wants competition and she wants her friends to be just as successful as her, so she’s always helping them improve and cheering them on.

Outside of Keijo, Nozomi is quite eccentric in more ways than one. She can be a very silly person, quite the jokester and always trying to break the ice with people. What really defines her though is her clear lack of boundaries when it comes to her body and others, as she apparently has no problem whatsoever just stripping in front of people, or talking endlessly about her naked body. Granted, she plays a sport where all she does is swing her butt and boobs around in a swimsuit, but we see that in the show there are still boundaries and morals with most of these girls.

So, here’s my call on Nozomi:

I don’t know what it is about “country girls” in anime, but there’s 99.9% of the time super attractive to me. I guess a lot of it has to do with the uniqueness and eccentricity that comes with their personalities. In Nozomi’s case specifically, it’s her neverending cheerfulness and energy that while can be over-the-top at times, doesn’t go over the line to becoming annoying or just too much to handle. And any girl that’s more than comfortable in her own skin, that’s an immediate plus to me, I can’t stress out enough how attractive it is to me when a girl is happy how she is and not thinking of a million different things she needs to change about her body.

So that’s this week’s edition of Waifu, FWB, or One-Night Stand, hope you enjoyed it! Leave any comments you’ve got below, whether it’s your own choices between the three or maybe I’m missing something that could’ve turned the tide on my decision with any one of these girls.
