Week #13 has arrived with this Spring anime season. What’s in store this week?!
Just like every week, I’ll be watching my selected shows for the season and giving my brief feelings on the episode, along with things I liked and things I didn’t like. So let’s get a’watchin’!
***WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW!!!***
Surprise 13th episode of Demi-chan! Figured I’d drop it in here for fun!
It was an adorable episode, much like the previous 12 episodes were last season. The three main girls are always a handful and they kept at it in this summer festival episode. Though I’ve gotta give credit to the latter half with Himari leading the charge, the “test of courage” section was really funny.
Side note, there’s a fourth student and she’s an invisible woman? That won’t lead to ecchi at all…
- A nice reminder of my favourite show last season
- The addition of a fourth girl perhaps for a second season, I’m more than happy with this!
- Nothing to report
Episode Score: 4/5
Look, I don’t know what happened, whether Djeeta is perhaps the female version of the MC, but can we just stick to this reality? Marie is a member of the crew, just make it permanent.
Speaking of which…guess who won the swimsuit contest? It was a massive contest, so I have to actually go with a top five because there were so many.
#5 – Rosetta
#4 – Djeeta
#3 – Lyria
#2 – Katalina
#1 – MARIE!!!
Not shocking of who the number one was, but man, Lyria and especially Katalina finally came out of the woodwork this week!
Anyways, the episode as a whole was what you’d expect, pure and utter fanservice, nothing more and nothing less. I will admit that without Gran there, it was a bit odd, I would’ve preferred the anime to at least give the show a constant topless male for the female fans to stare at too, it did get a little ridiculous with the excess girls. But then again, we knew what the point of the episode was.
So honestly, I’m not going to rate the episode, because it isn’t really a proper episode, it’s just fun after the real season actually ended.
Episode Score: N/A
Sigh…I really wanted this to end in a cool way, but instead it copped out and gave us a more “surprising” finish that lead to humanity being right back to square one. Look, seeing Koujirou lose and die was a rough moment, it worked. It made the reveal of he and Saraka’s daughter, Yukika that much bigger. However, the ending we got was way too rushed and didn’t really conclude anything. Just…everything disappeared. Kado is gone, zaShunina is dead, Koujirou is dead, it appears Saraka has left, Yukika isn’t around, even Kanata’s disappeared to go do something. There really needed to be more shown to us, but instead we’re left with more questions than answers and while this show caused me to ask a lot of good questions, the last episode has forced me to ask more questions I didn’t want to have to ask.
- The Yukika reveal was a surprise
- Why did the main character have to be sacrificed?
- What do we learn from everything disappearing?
- What effects did this whole thing have on people?
- The show gives us zero time to find out answers to these questions
Episode Score: 3/5
